Damage Prevention Council of Texas
DPC of Texas
Training and
Upcoming Events
By Jennifer Pratt Program Manager Texas811
Did you know that the Damage Prevention Council (DPC) of Texas offers free virtual training and excavation safety events throughout the year? We offer two types of virtual training. The first type of virtual training is through our OSHA Alliance. As a part of our Alliance with OSHA, we offer quarterly virtual training. If you aren’t currently receiving our training update emails, you can request to be added by letting Jennifer Pratt know at jenniferpratt@dpcoftexas.org, and you will
be added to those update emails so you don’t miss an opportunity to earn free CEUs through this program.
Another virtual training option is our Living and Working Near Pipelines in Texas training program, made possible by the PHMSA Technical Assistance Grant funding. This training is a module-based opportunity providing 1.5 hours of training on the topics of:
• Underground Infrastructure, Products, and Delivery
• Natural Gas and Pipeline Integrity
• Planning and Site Preparation
• Execution of Safe Worksite Excavation
After the training, each participant will receive a certificate of completion. This is all being offered at no cost to you, our members. You learn more about educational offerings by visiting our website at https:// dpcoftexas.org/education or by scanning the QR code.
If you prefer face-to-face training, we also have
options for that. We will offer in-person workshops and our flagship training event: Excavation Safety Days, throughout the year. Your Damage Prevention Manager will share details for each in-person event in their region. Check your email for more information and instructions on registering for each event. You can also visit our Upcoming Events Calendar for more information as well at: https://dpcoftexas.org/upcoming- events/.
