Thank you for picking up this magazine. We make an effort to share relevant topics, keep you informed about the most pressing challenges, and highlight the greatest opportunities our industry has to offer. I believe we are overflowing with opportunity. I believe we are on the cusp of major positive change in our industry and perhaps the most exciting time
to be a part of it since the founding of One-Call across the nation. This year, Texas811 celebrates our 40-year anniversary. We incorporated in 1984, and 25 utility companies in Texas raised money with the mission of damage prevention and
public safety. Today, we have over 2,000 members. For the last 40 years, we have worked together with the stakeholders in Texas to make our great state safe. I think it is important to reflect on what got us here, to appreciate the foundations this system was built on, and to do so with an eye to the future. We must be open to safely trying new ways of accomplishing our mission. Progress doesn’t happen without us; it happens because of us. I am optimistic about the next 40 years because of the way our industry works together to achieve common goals. Thank you for taking the time to read our magazine. We are proud to be in such great company.
