Perhaps the most significant organizational improvement for 2021, the DPC of Texas took bold steps in diversifying our Board of Directors with additional stakeholder representation. The 2020 nine-member Board consisted of individuals representing 811, natural gas distribution, telecommunications, and hazardous liquids pipelines. For 2021, we have expanded our Board to eleven Directors with designated stakeholder groups representing contract locating, professional excavators, and municipal utilities. Held via electronic ballot, the election resulted in unprecedented participation from membership with election results announced at the Damage Prevention Council of Texas Annual Meeting. We are honored to welcome these industry representatives to the 2021 DPC of Texas Board of Directors.
We’d like to thank our outgoing board members, Deirdre Goggins, Texas Gas Service and Lance Johnson, Energy Transfer for their service on the board and for their ongoing dedication and commitment to damage prevention. Lance and Deirdre will continue their contribution to the success of the organization by serving on the Advisory Committee and providing valuable guidance to the board. Meet the entire Board of Directors at: www.dpcoftexas.org.
