 Seth Davis, Sr.
HSE Specialist III, DPPA Training & Field Lead Plains All American Pipeline
I began working in the oil and gas sector in 2010. I’ve been blessed
to gain work experience in many aspects of the industry in areas such as construction, upstream (exploration & production of crude oil & natural gas), and now midstream (transportation
of crude oil & natural gas). I am approaching three years of employment with Plains Pipeline.
What got you started in the industry?
Early on I was attracted to all the different avenues you could take in
the oil and gas sector. Also, I knew many folks earning a great living in the industry, so I wanted to get on board.
What positions have you held, where did you graduate, and what was your major?
I hold two college degrees. One from The University of Oklahoma
in industrial safety & health. Since graduating I have held multiple
safety & health positions gaining work experience with a commercial construction company, an energy services company, an oil company, and now Plains Pipeline.
How have you evolved as an employee?
I have evolved by having some great leaders who have helped to mold my approach in work settings. I’ve also learned the importance of approaching goals as a team rather than as an individual contributor.
Through the years of working in the damage prevention industry what are some changes that you’ve seen?
To stay current with regulatory changes I often participate in damage prevention
