lot from group discussions. I also review publications to stay current on upcoming law changes. With Plains, we are always looking at ways to better our business. From a safety & health perspective, we consistently review our policies and procedures to ensure our process is still current.
How do you keep up with industry changes?
I serve on the Damage Prevention Council of Texas board of directors which allows me to engage with various other operators and learn about upcoming regulatory changes. It’s a great way to stay engaged and in the know.
What are some initiatives that you are most proud of that you’ve implemented?
I’m most proud of all the positive impacts I get to make daily with my operational pipeline group. Most days I spend assisting our folks with locate issues or coaching excavators on correct processes and expectations around Plains’ assets. I spend a lot of
time in the field making sure our folks understand our damage prevention

What are some other organizations you are involved in?
I participate in multiple damage prevention groups. To name a few: Damage Prevention Council Texas, Oklahoma Pipeline Awareness Liaison (OPAL), Tennessee Damage Prevention Committee, and the Arkansas Damage Prevention Alliance & Excavator Committee.
As a member, can you tell us some benefits of working with Texas811?
Working as a member of Texas811 is beneficial when situations come up and solutions are needed. Having avenues of communication is a great benefit. Also being kept informed of planned changes relating to damage prevention throughout the State.
